Metamucil Smooth Orange is a daily fibre supplement made with 100% natural psyllium husk to help support digestive health and maintain regularity.

Psyllium fibre absorbs water and forms a gel, helping add bulk to stools and support regular bowel movements. Metamucil can also help maintain healthy cholesterol levels when used as part of an appropriate diet.

Directions

Add 5.9g (approximately 1½ teaspoons) to at least 250ml of liquid.

Stir briskly and drink promptly. Drink plenty of water.

To restore and maintain regularity:

Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 1 dose 1–3 times daily.

Children 6–11 years: Take half the adult dose 1–3 times daily, on medical advice.

New users should start with 1 dose per day and gradually increase as necessary.

Ingredients

Each 5.9g dose contains:

Psyllium Husk Powder – 3.4g

Also contains aspartame, citric acid, maltodextrin, Sunset Yellow FCF (CI 15985), and artificial and natural orange flavour.

Contains phenylalanine.

Each 5.9g dose contains less than 5mg sodium.

Warnings

Always read the label and follow the directions for use.

Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block the throat or oesophagus and may cause choking.

Do not take if you have difficulty swallowing.

If the mixture thickens, add more water and stir.

Psyllium may cause an allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium.

Contains aspartame and phenylalanine.

Do not use if you have abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting, or in cases of medication-induced constipation.

If you take prescription medicines by mouth, take Metamucil at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after your medicine to minimise possible effects on absorption.

Consult your healthcare professional if constipation persists beyond 7 days, you experience rectal bleeding, or you have a sudden change in bowel habits lasting 2 weeks.
