ROBITUSSIN Chesty Cough Forte 200 ml is a non-drowsy cough syrup formulated to provide symptomatic relief from chesty coughs and congested chests due to the common cold. The dual-action formula combines an expectorant to increase the flow of natural secretions in the lower respiratory tract with a mucolytic agent to help liquefy and break down mucus, making it easier to cough up and clear congestion from the airway. This fruit-flavoured cough syrup also soothes the throat and is sugar-free with a child-resistant cap for safer household use.

Directions

Use the measuring cup provided for accurate dosing. Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 10 ml orally every 8 hours when necessary. Children 6 - 11 years: Take 5 ml orally every 8 hours when necessary, only on the advice of a doctor, pharmacist or nurse practitioner. Do not exceed 3 doses in a 24-hour period. Avoid use in children under 6 years of age.

Ingredients

Active Ingredients (per 10 ml): Guaifenesin 200 mg - an expectorant that increases the flow of respiratory tract secretions; Bromhexine hydrochloride 8 mg - a mucolytic that helps liquefy mucus. Also contains sodium benzoate, saccharin sodium, hydroxybenzoates, sulfites and sorbitol (10.5 g/30 ml), which may have a laxative effect.

Warnings

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients or in children under 6 years of age. Ask a healthcare professional before use if you have a persistent or chronic cough (such as with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema), a cough with excessive phlegm, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of gastric ulcer, or are taking other cough and cold medicines. Do not exceed the recommended dosage. Stop use and consult a healthcare provider if coughing persists for more than one week, tends to recur, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache, as these could be signs of a more serious condition. Keep out of reach of children.
